Update March 23, 2020

Your physical and emotional health is of the utmost importance to all of us in Homegrown Families. Due to the current Covid-19 circumstances, which are beyond our control, Mission Hospital has gone to Level III visitor restriction which only allows one support person for a birthing person on the Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units.

Because of this new restriction, all in-person birth doula services taking place at Mission Hospital and all in-home postpartum doula services are moving to comprehensive virtual services. If you are planning to give birth at the WNC Birth Center, we still have full support privileges at that facility at this time.

Although our care will look different, you will still receive the same high quality, evidence based care that you would be receiving in person. The connection we have with you is valuable and will continue to make a difference on your birth outcomes and satisfaction. We will still be able to provide 100%, 24/7 emotional and informational support throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum time.

Our doulas are still accepting clients and would love to connect with you! Please join us for our Virtual Meet the Doula Night on Monday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. Connection details to come. Please RSVP online.

Beginning today, March 18 the Homegrown Families building will be closed for the coming weeks. Please check our practitioners websites and social media pages for  specific updates related to the care and services they will be offering remotely.

Due to the continued precautions in place regarding Covid-19 the following events have shifted:

Classes are still being held at their usual time and day via Zoom. Your instructor will email you the log-in information to join the virtual Zoom classroom.

Mother With Courage – Join us each Monday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. for Mother With Courage. A link for the virtual gathering will be posted on our Homegrown Families Facebook page.

Meet the Doula Events – At this time in-person Meet the Doula events are not being held. HOWEVER, we are still available to support you! As of March 18, 2020 Mission Health is allowing one family member and a doula to attend births. If you are in-need of a birth or postpartum doula please reach out to your doula of choice directly. You can review our doula’s bio here. Non-Urgent postpartum doula support is being offered via tele-health (phone/text/Skype). We are grateful for your continued faith in and support of our services!
