CHILDBIRTH CLASSES

Our superior classes are designed to meet the learning needs of adults and are full of interactive learning and connection activities, videos, in-depth and detailed information that you won’t find anywhere else!

We know you want to become an amazing parent. And we’re here to help you navigate your last weeks carrying your child while preparing for your birth and the postpartum time with confidence and courage. From understanding your pregnant body and helping to get baby in an optimal position, to understanding every phase of labor and how to cope with each stage, to breastfeeding and infant needs & cues, we got you. This is our most comprehensive childbirth class yet.

In our childbirth series you’ll learn:

• Body literacy and how this baby knows how to get into your arms!
• Labor stages and signs of labor so you feel confident in laboring at home for a period of time.
• Tools to create a positive, satisfying birth experience no matter how you give birth.
• Skills to increase connection with your partner, care provider and your baby!
• Mental and breathing strategies for coping through labor.
• Hands-on support techniques for birth partners.
• Understanding transport situations and cultivating tools to feel safe and strong throughout.
• Medical technologies/interventions, advocacy, evidence based practices, unbiased information and how to make informed decisions.
• How to address and work with fears and anxieties.
• How to honor your pregnancy and birth as a rite of passage

Our series are designed to be taken when you are between 23-36 weeks pregnant. Each series begins on the start date listed at registration and runs for consecutive weeks unless otherwise noted.

All classes will be held in the Homegrown Families Health & Education Center at 201 Charlotte Street, Asheville NC 28801

At Homegrown Families we do not have an opinion or judgement on how you are planning to give birth or parent your child. All of our classes are inclusive and everyone is welcome no matter ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, gender, exceptionalities, language, religion, sexual orientation. Through this diversity, we drive connection.

Because our classes often sell out, we do not offer refunds or transfers for non-medical reasons, so please be sure you can attend the class you register for! If you choose to register for class beginning after your 34th week, there are no refunds if your baby arrives before the series is over. We continue to use our community care model to deconstruct the systems of white supremacy and racism within health care, creating opportunities for equitable access to education, this refund policy goes to eliminating barriers to childbirth education.
